Multitalented Kapuso actor Mikael Daez remains a loyal Kapuso as he renewed his contract with GMA Network and GMA Artist Center yesterday, August 26.
Present during the virtual signing ceremony were Senior Vice President for GMA Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable, First Vice President For Drama Redgie A. Magno, First Vice President and Head of Regional TV and Synergy Oliver B. Amoroso, Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Communications Angel Javier Cruz, Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara, Senior Assistant Vice President for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy, GMA Artist Center Assistant Vice President and Head for Talent Imaging and Marketing Unit Simoun Ferrer, GMA Artist Center Senior Talent Manager Vic del Rosario, Senior Program Manager Cathy Ochoa Perez, and Mikael’s co-manager Betchay Vidanes.
Throughout his Kapuso journey, Mikael has proven his excellence in his craft. He was recently part of the top-rating and successful GMA primetime series ‘Love of my Life,’ where he played the character of Nikolai and worked alongside veteran actress Coney Reyes, and fellow Kapuso stars Carla Abellana, Rhian Ramos and Tom Rodriguez.
In his 11 years as a Kapuso, he shared that there had been ups and downs but all are learning experiences for him, “I will always tell myself, my loved ones, my wife, when we make a mistake, that also gives us an opportunity to learn and when we learn, we grow as a person, as a worker. If you keep on repeating that process, eventually you’ll be better than who you were before.”
Furthermore, Mikael looks forward to more years as a Kapuso, “This makes me extremely happy. It shows that GMA is continually willing to invest and take a chance on me even though I’ve been in GMA for 11 years, and I’ve done a collection of projects already, the continual trust is something that shouldn’t be taken for granted so I’m very thankful for that.”
Rasonable was glad to share how she is in awe of Mikael’s growth as an actor, “Congratulations on your renewal and of course, we’re very happy to have you again as a Kapuso, hopefully for a long time, still. I just want to say how proud I am of you. I always remember the first time I met you and you know that story. But through the years, I think I can say that I am among the proudest to see how you have grown especially with this last project, ‘Love of my Life,’ where you really showed how great you are now in acting, how much you have learned throughout the years. Talagang we were so impressed with your performance there. We know that with the hard work that you always put in anything that you do, you will still go a long way and we are happy to be part of that journey.”
Meanwhile, Santiago-Lara reminisced the actor’s beginnings and how he continues to improve in his craft, ”Mikael started his showbiz career in GMA and we have seen him grow over the years. He has built a good reputation for himself as a professional actor, an intelligent host, and a person who cares for his co-actors and the people he works with. We are very happy that he has decided to remain a Kapuso and we’re very gratified to have this celebration today.”
