Super thankful ang PLDT Smart Foundation’s Gabay Guro sa pangunguna ng chairperson nito na si Chaye Cabal-Revilla dahil sa tulong at suportang ibinigay ng mga celebrity sa gaganaping Gabay Guro Grand Gathering 2021 sa October 2.
Ang naturang annual tribute event for Filipino teachers ay may tema ngayong taon na “Guro sa Gitna ng Pandemya: Heroes for Digital Transformation.” Mapapanood ito virtually sa October 2, 2pm sa Facebook page ng Gabay Guro at sa PLDT Gabay Guro YouTube channel.
“We want to make this event extra special. Mabuti na lang marami tayong mababait na artists. Actually, ang gagaling nila… wala akong masabi sa ating Filipino artists talagang oozing with talent and kindness also for their time. Siyempre pag nagvi-video sila yung effort, di ba?,” sabi ni Ms. Chaye sa virtual mediacon ng Gabay Guro Grand Gathering 2021.
Hindi naging mahirap na kumbinsihin ang artists at celebrities na maging bahagi ng tribute event na ito.
Kaagad silang pumayag nang malaman nila na para ito sa Gabay Guro. Extra effort lang talaga sa kanila ang preparasyon at pagbuo ng kanilang virtual performances dahil sa restrictions dulot ng pandemya.
Ang Gabay Guro Grand Gathering 2021 will be hosted by Pops Fernandez, Iza Calzado, Derek Ramsay, Atom Araullo, and Dominic Roque.
Ang performers sa event ay pangungunahan nina Sharon Cuneta, Regine Velasquez, Martin Nievera, Ogie Alcasid, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Kuh Ledesma, Basil Valdez, at Jose Mari Chan.
Ang tribute event ay katatampukan ng world class production numbers na kinabibilangan ng mga sumusunod – a grand opening sequence by Quest, Sam Concepcion, Rayver Cruz, and Elmo Magalona; a Band hits medley featuring Nyoy Volante, Bugoy, Davey Langit, Erik Santos, Jed Madela, The Itchyworms, and Randy Santiago; a Side A/Neocolours medley with Mark Bautista, Jeremy Glinoga, Jason Dy, Poppert Bernales, and Christian Bautista; and an acoustic guitar medley with Janine Tenoso, Barbie Almalbis, Ice Seguerra, and Yeng Constantino.
Iconic ballads medley naman ang handog nina Jose Mari Chan, Martin Nievera, Nonoy Zuniga, at Basil Valdez, habang sina Awra Briguela, Rhap Salazar, iDOLLS, at Wacky Kiray ay may nakatutuwang medley.
P-pop number ang itatanghal ng BINI at BGYO, while a surprise medley of songs will feature Vina Morales, Lara Maigue, Klarisse De Guzman, Aicelle Santos and Bituin Escalante.
Kaabang-abang din ang Divas medley nina Morissette, Joey Albert, Gigi De Lana, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Jona, Kuh Ledesma, Kyla, Regine Velasquez, Angeline Quinto, at Sharon Cuneta.
Sa loob ng 13 years tuloy-tuloy ang Gabay Guro sa pagbibigay ng tribute sa Filipino teachers para sa kanilang pagsusumikap at kabayanihan sa paghubog ng kaisipan at talino ng mga kabataan at estudyante.
“Our teachers are the pillars of education. They pave the way for our children to have the best learning opportunities. It is through our Grand Gathering that we pay homage to the important role they play in transforming the lives of the next generation,” paliwag pa ni Ms. Chaye, na siya ring Chief Finance Officer and Chief Sustainability Officer ng Metro Pacific Investments Corp.
Kahit ang pandemya ay hindi mapipigilan ang pagbibigay ng tribute sa mga guro dahil hindi rin tumigil ang mga ito sa pagtuturo sa kabila ng challenges ng new normal kasama na ang online classes.
Ayon nga kay Ms.Chaye, “Last year, given the challenging constraints of the new normal, we’ve all had to fast-track our transition to digitalization. Our teachers and the whole education sector had to start moving towards a new way of doing things, just so our students would not get left behind.
“This year, we celebrate how our teachers were able to step up and how they underwent Digital Transformation themselves. We hail them as heroes for embracing and using technology to ensure that they are able to deliver quality education to all our learners despite the ongoing pandemic.”
The event is expected to draw in over 500,000 teachers nationwide, who can join the Grand Gathering by downloading the Gabay Guro Super App.
By registering, teachers will have a chance to win exciting prizes at stake, including grand prizes of a Chery Tiggo car and 2 cash prizes of P500,000 each.
