Magbabalik sa mga sinehan sa darating na Disyembre ang walong pelikulang kalahok sa Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2021.
Inihayag sa Novotel sa Cubao nitong Biyernes, November 12 ang walong official entries ng Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2021.
Ang taunang festival ay magaganap mula December 25, 2021 hanggang January 8, 2022.
Noong nakaraang taon, ipinalabas via streaming o online ang mga kalahok na pelikula sa MMFF dahil sa sarado ang mga sinehan dulot ng COVID-19 pandemic.
But this year, dahil puwede nang lumabas (with health and safety protocols pa rin) ay sa mga sinehan mismo mapapanood ang mga sumusunod na entries:
A Hard Day nina Dingdong Dantes at John Arcilla (Action Drama mula sa Viva Communications, Inc.) at sa direksyon ni Lawrence Fajardo; Big Night nina Christian Bables at John Arcilla (Comedy mula sa Cignal Entertainment, The Ideafirst Company, Octobertrain Films, at Quantum Films) sa direksyon ni Jun Robles Lana; Huling Ulan Sa Tag-Araw nina Rita Daniela, Ken Chan, Richard Yap at Lotlot de Leon (Romance Comedy mula sa Heaven’s Best Entertainment) sa direksyon ni Louie Ignacio; Huwag Kang Lalabas nina Kim Chiu, Jameson Blake, Beauty Gonzalez at Aiko Melendez (Horror Trilogy mula sa Obra Cinema) sa direksyon ni Adolf Alix, Jr.; Kun Maupay Man It Panahon (Whether the Weather is Fine) nina Charo Santos-Concio at Daniel Padilla (Drama mula sa Cinematografica, Plan C, House on Fire, iWant TFC, Globe Studios, Black Sheep, Quantum Films, Inc., AAAND Company, Kawankawan Media, Weydemann Bros., CMB Films) sa direksyon ni Carlo Francisco Manatad; Love At First Stream
nina Kaori Oinuma, Jeremiah Lisbo, Daniella Stranner at Anthony Jennings (Romance Comedy mula sa ABS-CBN Film Productions, Inc at Kumu) sa direksyon ni Cathy Garcia-Molina; Nelia nina Winwyn Marquez at Raymond Bagatsing (Suspense Drama mula sa A and Q Production Films, Inc.) sa direksyon ni Lester Dimaranan; at ang The Exorsis nina Toni Gonzaga at Alex Gonzaga (Comedy Horror mula sa TINCAN) sa direksyon ni Fifth Solomon.
Sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon ay sa ilog, oo sa ilog, magaganap ang Parada ng mga Bituin sa Disyembre 23.
Ang bawat float ng bawat entry na pelikula ay babaybayin ang Pasig River at dadaan sa apat na lungsod : ang Pasig, Makati, Mandaluyong, at Manila.
Ang Gabi Ng Parangal o awards night ay gaganapin sa December 27; abangan kung face-to-face na ito.
Nangako naman si Metro Manila Development Authority Chairman Benhur Abalos, nang buong suporta sa MMFF upang maging maganda ang pagsisimula ng festival at awards night.
Ayon sa pahayag ni MMDA and MMFF Chair Benhur Abalos, “It has been our desire for our theater partners to bounce back to business once again, and we are helping them build the confidence in the movie audiences and encourage them to go back to watching films where they should be enjoyed to the fullest— the cinemas. Thus, this year’s MMFF will be back in the cinemas where they initially and rightfully belong.”
Bukod kay Chairman Benhur, malakas na puwersa sa likod ng MMFF sina Noel Ferrer at Ms. Boots Anson-Roa.
