Natanggap na ni Jeyrick Sigmaton (dubbed as the Carrot Man of the Philippines) ang kanyang first Best Actor Award para sa short film na “DAYAS,” mula sa 2021 International Film Festival Manhattan (IFMM).
Ginanap ang paggawad ng parangal sa Okada, Manila. Present din ang direktor ng pelikula si Direk Jennylyn Delos Santos, na sya ring writer, producer, Jinky Delos Santos, ang line producer, at ang Director of Photography na si Direk Pete Mariano.
Ang “DAYAS” ay initial venture ng Sine Cordillera, a Baguio based production na naglalayon pa na gumawa ng mga inspiring short and full-length films sa hinaharap. Actually, they’re planning na gawing full- length ang “DAYAS” next year.
“DAYAS” is a brainchild of the Executive Producer and Director Jennylyn Delos Santos, or Jianlin, at tribute sa lahat ng biktima ng “Ompong Tragedy” that saddened the Cordilleran community of Itogon, Benguet.
Ang pelikula ay hango sa tunay na buhay ni Direk Jianlin’s family particularly ang kanyang uncle na Igorot miner Benjamin Galletes.
Siyempre pa, kasama ulit si Jeyrick sa mga pelikulang gagawin ni Direk Jennylyn. Puring-puri nga ni Direk ang Igorot new actor dahil pulos take 1 daw ito. Nagtatanong din daw ito kung bakit nya gagawin ang isang eksena at kapag take na ay nagugulat daw silang lahat dahil mahusay daw si Carrotman.
Maging ang DOP nila na si Direk Pete ay hanga rin sa aktor.

Sina Ivana Alawi at Barbie Forteza pala ang dream leading lady ni Jeyrick.
EVENT: Baguio-based production Sine Cordillera launches its initial venture: the short film ‘Dayas,’ which won for Jeyrick Sigmaton (dubbed as “The Carrotman of the Philippines”) the Best Actor award at the 2021 International Film Festival Manhattan (IFMM) held recently in New York, USA. The film is produced and directed by Jennylyn Delos Santos.
The event held at Okada Manila was graced by Jeyrick “Carrotman” Sigmaton, director/writer/producer Jennylyn Delos Santos, line producer Jinky Delos Santos-Lontoc, and director of photography Direk Pete Mariano.
#Dayas is a brainchild of our executive producer and director, Direk Jennylyn Delos Santos (or Jianlin) and is a tribute to all the victims and the bereaved families of the “Ompong Tragedy” that saddened the Cordilleran community of Itogon, Benguet.
The story was also inspired by the true to life storyof Direk Jianlin’s family, particularly that of her uncle, Igorot miner Benjamin Galletes.
“Dayas” completed filming on February 2021 amidst the Covid 19 lockdown and while following safety health protocols. It has been shown and presented on roadshows and has been warmly received by the people of Cordilleras who watched it, and by thousands of supporters who have seen it online.
