In her latest iWant TFC series Misis Piggy which streams for free in the Philippines, Ria Atayde gets thumbs-up from director Carlo Catu. “To say that Ria Atayde is a great actress in an understatement,” he says.
Ria plays the role of Lani, a strong and supportive sister to her siblings Steffi (Iana Bernardez) and Jeffrey (Elijah Canlas). Lani aims to boost her job as a nurse by going to Canada.
“Sobrang inspiring ng talent at attitude n’ya sa set. She’s always listened to my direction and most of the time surprised me with her real moving performance,” the director shares.
Misis Piggy creator adds, “Kayang-kaya niyang magbigay ng totoong emotion and can cry on cue!.”
On smooth crying scene (pool scene) with co-actor Ricky Davao, Ria shares, “We shot that scene with Tito Ricky a little bit later on na in our lock in so by the time medyo naramdaman ko na ‘yung energy nung pagka-Tatay n’ya and longing for father so I think it made it easier na a little bit later naramdaman ko na ‘yung character ni Lani.”
Misis Piggy with lead star Sylvia Sanchez is still available on iWant TFC. Ria writes, “I genuinely hope you guys enjoy Misis Piggy as much as we enjoyed working on it.”
The series is produced by ABS-CBN Entertainment, iWantTFC, Dreamscape Entertainment, Nathan Studios, and Epic Media.
Director Carlo ends, “Sana makatrabaho ko pa ulit si Ria kasi napaka sarap i-explore ng talent niya. Siguro something more art house sa susunod.”
